Post Racial?

Since the election President Obama there has been a lot of discussion on what "race" means in the US today. Has one presidential election moved us beyond our history of racial discrimination and prejudice, are we a post-racial nation? This subject is often tackled from an intellectual or public-opinion angle. What does it mean for the man/woman on the street, though?
